Celebrating my inordinate belief in the power of the fact

Captain Robert Hunt was the fourth commandant of the convict settlement of Norfolk Island between November 1828 and February 1829. That's not very long.

I know. I mean, I don't know, but the facts suggest other facts that I would like to be facts in my possession. The previous dude was court martialled back to Sydney for killing a convict. I hafta say, Pacific Gothic is a vastly underexploited genre.

It might have something to do with the 57th regiment marching off to battle in India in September (after they'd held a marvellous ball to impress the gels).
But I could be wrong.

I suppose that makes Gould's Book Of Fish Vandemonian Gothic. Or Bass Gothic, which doesn't sound quite as exciting.
