You can say that again

There are two kinds of tautologies: rhetorical tautologies, which are tautologies in rhetoric, and logical tautologies, which are tautologies in logic.

Thanks! Today I was trying to remember the word for 'tautology' but it was elusively evading me.

Au contraire, there are three types of tautologies: rhetorical tautologies (tautologies in rhetoric), logical tautologies (tautologies in logic), and cupboardian tautologies (tautologies in cupboards). I don't know why people keep tautologies in cupboards, but apparently some do.

I don't think I'm over-exaggerating when I say this piece on tautologies has been an added bonus to my day.

Mark, that XKCD taketh the cake. The thing about qualifications for tautology club is that you can never have too many, of the same ones.

MGB, ha!

oh VespaMan - 'added bonus' drives me crazy, and last night I was swacked in the ears again, by 'watched on' courtesy of TV news.

The term 'tautology' is from the tautening one suffers before brain snaps.
