Bear Wee the Mides of Arch

I spent the whole of yesterday being ware of the Ides of March, and not so much as a whisper of assassination, let alone a plot, let alone an attempt, let alone a full blown being-done-in came my way. Sheesh. That'll teach me to get my weather forecasts from Shakespeare.

Ah, but that's because you were aware of it and were able to steel yourself accordingly. I didn't even think of it, so I had a horrible afternoon and evening, beginning with the non-airconditioned train full of rowdy school children. By 6pm I was wondering how one goes about throttling institutions and government agencies. I concluded the night with a hearty dose of bad internet, learning (no doubt to my perpetual advancement) that women have to play hard to get, but not too hard to get, and that men can pretty much do as they please. You returned bad internet to my consciousness, so it is *all your fault*!

Don't do this to yourself, Karen. There's nothing more depressing than bad internet, except perhaps New Weekly magazine.

If you're needing some feminism supplements after the spirit-leech of the SMH blog scene, I suggest you go here, for some of the most magnificent writing - and analysis - in the whole wide world

Only, its author is about to have surgery, so now's not the best time to drop by seeking uplift and inspiration.

I can't help it- I have an addictive personality and I enjoy being angry.
Will look at that blog. It sounds familiar, so I think I may have stumbled across it before.

Sympathies on your Ides idling, Alexis. Shakespearean weather forecasts confuse me, too.

Here I am in the southern hemisphere, as yet unrelieved by a summer son of York in January, waiting in vain for the darling buds of May, my search for Winter Tales between June and August unrequited.

Now is the winter of your discontent, eh?

Having officially slackened off enough to peruse "I blame the patriarchy":

Thank you. Feminist polemic served with a good garnishing of "colourful" language was just what I needed! I shall not stray to SATC again, no matter how late at night.

Hooray for post 97! Hooray for all posts the number of which are only divisible by themselves and one! Prime numbered posts are the nass!
