Specialite de la Maison

I'll have my usual, thanks. Oven-baked staying up late preparing tomorrow morning's class lightly drizzled with chocolate sauce.

If the class involves drizzling every student with chocolate sauce I am changing universities immediately.

'Fraid not, J. I think that would breach my duty of care, or something. Is that the right spelling of "breach"?

You do realise that you are an English teacher asking how to spell something, yes?

And breaching duty of care is not nearly as dangerous as breeching it, which presumably involves health-and-safety-unfriendly deployment of pantaloons.

Ever since I read a paper on cross-dressing that referred to "Breeches of Etiquette" (thanks, Vanessa Smith, for making my year with that one), I've been uncertain. Also whales: breaching and beaching, not to be confused.

If you drizzled the chocolate into their pants, that would breech a duty of care as well as breaching it.

And it would be a signal waste of chocolate.

True. You could just use apples instead.

Again, Tim - and I must be firm here - duty of care, breached.
